Lamp Aladdin Kerosene Mantle Lamp Company Venetian Pink With Shade

Aladdin Lamp- Pink Venetian First Edition Side Draft Burner Aladdin Production Lamp Limited 2 Year Production. Solid pink font, stem, and base in a wonderful pink color and in very good condition for 83 to 84 years old. Used lamp of the era which provided excellent light for those families that had no electricty in the past.

The mantle lamp provided to nearly a 60 watt electric bulb and was operated off of kerosene which was flamable but not highly combustible and perfect for the lamps of the time. These were far superior to the flat wick lamps from other manufactures. These are still great providers of light in power outages and I have had one in nearly every room in my past houses. The burners on each lamp was on the lamp when I acquired these lamps many years ago and of course there is no way I can say they were original to the lamps.

The lamp shade spider holders with fancy brass scroll work are not original but highly functionable and beautiful to to eye. The chimneys are reproductions and provided to me from Aladdin Industries who at one time provided many replacement parts. All of the shades are manufactured for the Aladdin lamps or other manufacturers since they were fairly universal in diameter and are not original unless noted. Obviously the kerosene font is also empty. The kerosene or lamp oil can be bought in many stores and the wick can be ordered on line from numersous suppliers. The burner is the Nu-Type Model A version so a mantle and wick should be ordered for anyone intending to use the lamp for actual light. Some buyers will think this lamp is over priced but if you just take into consideration the cost of the lamp, rare burner, brass spider or shade holder and the wonderful shade the single prices alone will exceed the asking price.
