Aladdin Alacite Glass Electric Table Lamp - Celadon Green & Ivory - Art Deco - 1940s - Original Hardware - Working. This lamp has never been touched up, rewired, or restored.

It is exactly as it left the Aladdin factory sometime in the 1940s - original brass socket, original harp, original wiring, original gilt base ring, all of it intact and all of it working. For the collector who wants the real thing unaltered, that matters. A lot of vintage lamps have been through someone's garage workshop. The Aladdin Mantle Lamp Company of America produced Alacite glass - their proprietary ivory opal glass formula - beginning in 1938, and the electric table lamp line that followed became one of the most collected categories in American vintage lighting. The celadon green and ivory combination is among the most sought-after colorways, and this example shows why.

The body is a full, graceful vase form - ribbed in soft celadon green, with raised ivory relief panels that catch the light and give the surface a quiet, dimensional beauty. The neck tapers elegantly upward to the original brass socket hardware. The base is gilt-trimmed and sits solidly. The design language is pure Art Deco - vertical ribbing, symmetrical raised relief panels, a formal vase silhouette, and the restrained elegance that defines the best decorative work of the 1940s. It has the quality of a column - architectural, considered, and completely of its moment.

At 15.5 inches tall to the top of the glass body, this is a substantial and presence-commanding lamp. It will need a shade - the harp is present and ready.

The harp finial is missing, but a standard replacement is inexpensive and widely available. When fitted it will anchor a bedside table, a reading nook, a study, or a living room with the kind of warm, considered elegance that only genuinely old things produce. Material: Alacite glass - proprietary ivory opal formula.

Color: Celadon green and ivory with gilt base trim. Height: Approximately 15.5 inches to top of glass body. Hardware: All original - brass socket, harp, and wiring intact and unrestored. Condition: Excellent vintage condition for age. All original hardware intact and unrestored.

Blemishes are fully documented in the detail photo. Harp is present but the harp finial is missing - a standard replacement is inexpensive and widely available. Please review all photos carefully for a complete understanding of condition. Photos are of the actual item for sale. We make every effort to describe and photograph our items as accurately and thoroughly as possible.
