TeriAnn's Guide to Aladdin. They have been found in clear, Alacite, cobalt blue and ruby red. Only a very small number of clear lamps were ever made, and they may never have gone into the normal sales channels. TeriAnn says that more Cobalt and Ruby Tall Lincoln Drape re-issues were made than the originals. And I do see them for sale often.
But I have NEVER seen even one single B-74 Clear re-issue offered for sale. And I've been looking long and everywhere. I've lusted for a Clear B-74 for so many years.
I have all the other Tall Lincoln Drapes, including Cobalt and Ruby. Obviously, I'm desperate for a B-74 Clear. So, when I saw these, I grabbed them so fast, I darn near dislocated my shoulder. And I can't say that about any other re-issue.
I know I'll never get an original B-74 Clear in my lifetime. And I figure I'll never see another clear re-issued one either. This lamp looks great next to my period Cobalt and Ruby as you can see from the photo. I surmise that these B-74 Clear re-issues were made from the same molds in the 1970s as the ubiquitous Cobalt and Ruby re-issued ones that faked out so many unwary collectors.
But even the 1970s re-issues have value as they are 50 years old. The fill cap and fill threads are tarnished as you would expect for a lamp made and stored 50 years ago. For more information on this subject. TeriAnn's Article: Model B "Tall Lincoln Drape". No chips, cracks, or other problems.
Mold quality and mold lines are good. I don't think it was ever used as the glass is impeccably clean.
Lamp has a period fill cap which screws on and off nicely. Has usual "as made" glass imperfections characteristic of that time period - tiny bubbles, minor straw marks. If you are new to these lamps, straw marks on clear glass can look like cracks at first glance but they are not. Fill cap and fill threads tarnished from age. This is as close to the original issue as you will ever get.
If you did not receive the item in the photographs and description, just return it within 14 days. I roll lamp in layers of bubble wrap, then roll that in heavy corrugated cardboard. I insert that in a new 12"x12"x12" box with more bubble wrap and 2" crush space. 6009 E - B-74 Clear Tall Lincoln Drape Re-Issue.
