The round hole pattern introduced on the bottom half of the #4 wick carrier now covers the entire carrier. New tooling is used to create the chime that holds the top half of the bowl to the bottom half. This creates a rounded wide chime on the newer lamps.
This burner appears to be the same as the early Aladdin model 6 burner in all things except the number on the knob. The Aladdin model 5 font lamp is still 1-1/2 qts with a redesigned lower bowl half that included stiffener rays at the base like the table lamps have. This is unique to model 5 fonts.This particular piece is a near-perfect late production Model 5 Aladdin Nickel Plated Oil Table Lamp. Made during September 1913 and August 1914, any of these Aladdin Model 5 parts are extremely rare, therefore it is extremely rare to find a complete Model 5 table lamp. It is missing the filling cap.
The nickel plate has some surface spots that should polish to a warm glow. I began this labor-intensive process...
