These lamps were commonly used inside cabooses, depots, and other railroad work environments where dependable, bright illumination was essential. Unlike ordinary flat-wick kerosene lamps, this Aladdin utilizes the company's famous incandescent mantle burner system.

The circular wick produces a clean blue flame that heats a mantle to create an exceptionally bright white light-approximately 60 candlepower, several times brighter than a traditional wick lamp.
